The Israeli war cabinet met and discussed when and how to respond to the Hezbollah rocket attack on Majdal Shams that killed 12 children (3 girls, 9 boys, all between 9 and 15 years old). Whatever eventually will be done, the IDF will try to make it clear that the response is not aimed at making the war much bigger, but that Israel can, and will, make stronger responses when needed. I don’t think there is any possibility of doing that. When you decide to use force, you do not have control over what your opponent may do.
Did anyone notice that the big media reported people killed, but failed to mention they were all children, en route to a shelter (something the Arabs don’t provide for their citizens).
Several nations have told their citizens to leave (or avoid going to) Lebanon in light of the anticipated Israeli attack. Hezbollah is obviously on high alert and has moved forces into some of the elaborate underground fortifications they built not far from the border. Those concrete tunnels and blockhouses are connected to a modern network of fiber optic cables for communication in order to foil Israeli intelligence attempts at listening in. Hezbollah is not Hamas.
On the propaganda front, one Hamas ally has been particularly active. CNN has been airing a lot of footage from Hamas (some reported as coming from the Gaza Ministry of Health or UNRWA in order to conceal their actual source). CNN followed their report with an Australian anti-Israeli journalist talking about Israel not accepting a two-state solution. No mention of the Palestinian political charters that not only don’t accept a two-state solution, they actually call for the destruction of Israel.
No wonder more people get their disinformation from CNN.
