Do you trust Hamas?

It is now the third anniversary of the massacre perpetrated by Hamas. The world seems to have forgotten who was the victim. The US has created a new governing body for Gaza, but de facto control on the streets remains in the hands of armed Hamas gangs.  This is in spite of Hamas agreeing to disarm as one of the conditions for the cease-fire. There are countries who have committed to sending troops, but it seems their arrival is dependent upon Hamas having already disarmed. This is not the first time Hamas as has failed to carry out an agreement they signed Nobody seems to care.  The media remain focused on accusations against Israel (the victim, remember?) Meanwhile, absolutely no one is talking about the most important activity that is needed to create an atmosphere for peace; the education of Palestinian children. No wonder the conflict continues.

For those who have forgotten Hamas predecessor, Fatah, promised to amend their founding documents to eliminate a call for the destruction of Israel. The US pushed on them for action, and they convened a meeting (conveniently without a legal quorum). The US observer was told everything had been done, But the document was never changed.  You can still find it on line. So much for Arab promises.
