Gaza War 5 Jul

Hamas is reported to have made a new offer. They are dropping their demand for an immediate and complete cease-fire. As a result, fighting in Gaza would result in a parallel halt by Hezbollah because they don’t want to expand the war (if they really didn’t want a larger war, why did they start shooting rockets to begin with? And why don’t they stop unilaterally?).

One of the latest fake news in depth programs reported on “dire” situations in Gaza hospitals where newborns will have little chance of survival due to malnutrition. Pallywood is returning to this theme, probably because it earned them good press coverage before. Playing the “humanitarian suffering” card is a favorite ploy of Hamas, who, in reality, doesn’t care at all about the people it rules.

One interesting source that undermines Hamas claims is the media of the Palestinian Authority. It is run by the Fatah party (not great friends of Hamas even under good conditions). PA TV and radio have been broadcasting stories and speeches that expose Hamas as two-faced liars that exploit Palestinian suffering (something they, themselves, have done when it promoted their interests). I don’t see the PA as a viable replacement for Hamas, but that may not be the way they perceive the situation. After all, The PA (Fatah) ruled in Gaza until Hamas stage a coup and threw Fatah supporters off the rooftops of higher buildings in Gaza in 2007.
