It was probably not a surprise to hear that Hamas had rejected the US sponsored UN peace plan. They didn’t really reject it. They just came back with a series of changes that made the entire plan almost identical to the Hamas maximum demands. Meanwhile, according to the New York Times, Yihyah Sinwar has ordered his hostage guards to immediately kill their charges if there is any hint of an IDF rescue attempt. This isn’t a surprise, either. Especially not to anyone who remembers Sinwar telling a journalist “No blood, No news”.
Another interesting comparison was also recently revealed. The US plans to give Hamas $499 million dollars for rebuilding Gaza (Remember, I told you that Hamas never wants to pay for any of the mischief it causes, whether the damage is done to Israel or to Gazan Palestinians. The G7 summit in Italy is talking about a loan to Ukraine with a maximum total of only $50 million. Maybe the Ukrainians need to hire some Hamas people to handle their finances?
