Gaza War 2 Apr

IAF aircraft made a precise attack on a building in Damascus. Several occupants were killed. Among them were Iranian General Mohammed Reza Zahedi, head of the IRGC in Syria, and his deputy. The IRGC in Syria funnels weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon and their facilities in Syria have, consequently, been targeted by Israel several times.

Israel is also accused of killing 7 aid workers of the World Central Kitchen in an attack in central Gaza. This attack looks more like a Hamas improvised bomb than an IDF attack, probably made to discredit Israel. The contrast between the media descriptions of the two events is extreme. WCK is suspending aid distribution activities as a result. Previously, they were competitors for Hamas operatives in handling food distribution in Gaza City (under IDF control). Readers should compare the media accounts of the two events.

UN agencies have been warned by Israel to prepare for withdrawal from Rafah. Israeli forces are preparing to act in Rafah and expect to ask non-belligerent civilians to evacuate the areas that may be affected.

West Point (US Military Academy) Urban Warfare Professor said this about IDF in a Newsweek article last month:
