This morning I was pleasantly surprised by CNN coverage of the UN request for over $4 Billion in humanitarian aid. Why? Because most of the money will be used to help the refugees in Sudan. You may remember that I Have used Sudan as an example of refugees in a crisis far worse than that of Gaza. Welcome to reality, CNN.
Aid in Gaza is still being hijacked by Hamas. What happens to humanitarian aid trucks after they cross over from Egypt is still not being covered almost anywhere except in Israel. A French diplomat visiting the area did ask why there has been no confirmation that medical aid for Israeli hostages has been delivered. The answer is easy. Hamas doesn’t want to talk about it.
There is a lot of discussion about a possible exchange deal (not gonna happen) and it features a lot of hostage relatives (and former hostages). The part that’s left out is that out of 136 victims not yet accounted for, only about 100 are still (potentially living. The others are already dead, and Hamas isn’t willing to return their bodies (or, in most cases, even confirm they are dead, unless it can be blamed on Israel).
The IDF uncovered a Hamas financial center in a tunnel. The confiscated items included a lot of records, and about $30 million in cash.
