I am more concerned about what having 3 attempts says about American society. This is way beyond any concern about gun control laws. The US was once the model for others tp follow if they wanted democratic government. Now we have massive governmental fraud in Minnesota (and probably in Illinois and California), Open disregard of federal law by many Democrat party controlled local governments at the city, county, and state levels, and what looks like gigantic disregard for the public by the Democrats in Congress who are overly concerned with opposition to the elected president (who, in any case, cannot run for that office again) to the extent that they withhold the salaries of government employees out of pique because they cannot affect payments to some other government agents who are enforcing federal laws that they prefer to ignore.
There are procedures for enacting changes to laws that do not require congress to behave like spoiled children. Thr Democrat party of today is not only no longer the party of my parents, it is no longer a party that I can support. It includes people like the Governor of Virginia who promised not to engage in redistricting [gerrymandering} while campaigning, and after being elected, proceeded to support such a disregard for her constituents that the redistricting law she supported was sufficiently discriminatory to have a judge rule it unconstitutional.,
