Iran closed its space again (4th time!) some think this is a sign of an imminent attack. But after 3 false starts, it looks more like another psychological warfare game more than like a real attack. Either way, the IDF alert hasn’t been lowered.
- The US is still talking about a hostage deal. But it’s obvious that all they want is to push for an Israeli surrender. The Hamas representatives did not attend the last round of talks and the US is not trying to influence Sinwar to do anything. They know they have no leverage.
As of the time I’m writing this the DNC still hasn’t told the “Free Palestine” faction whether they will be allowed to address the convention. It looks to me like the Democrat Party is trying ti figure out how to keep that group in the party without openly supporting the groups actions (defacing public monuments, burning American flags, etc.), Earlier generations of American Jews who voted for the Democratic ticket would not recognize their party today. (neither would veterans who actually served in the military).
I noticed that the DNC has decided to label their VP nominee as “Coach” Walz. in order to avoid problems that arose when they tried to mention his National Guard service and legislative record. Making a change in the packaging doesn’t alter the contents. Kamala Harris also seems adept at playing the game. She talks about prosecuting gang members that entered California illegally, but avoided saying anything about a policy of making crossing the border into a “non-crime”, or about free bail and reduced policing. In fact, she has not really made any substantive policy statements (especially about the Middle-East). Her support for a ‘humanitarian’ cease-fire looks to me like she sides with Hamas, a designated (and not apologetic) terrorist organization. If Hamas had not attacked Israel on October 7th there wouldn’t be any humanitarian crisis in Gaza to worry about.
