The US envoy is still trying to get everyone to agree to meet in order to get to a cease-fire. America seems to think that’s the first step to a magical 2 state solution that leaves everyone with the fairy tale ending of living happily ever after. If only it were=e true! But Hamas (now under the sole control of Yihyah Sinwar) doesn’t have the same ending to his fairy tale. He still thinks in terms of destroying Israel. Check the Hamas web site. It hasn’t changed.
I still think in terms of what I wrote yesterday. Islamic Radicalism is a contagious disease that needs to be quarantined. Part of the solution is to stop subsidizing them. UNRWA needs to be done away with, The UN high commissioner on refugees can deal with refugee problems. Palestinians do NOT need special handling. There is no reason I can think of for the rest of the world to pay Hamas (and other terrorist groups) to go around killing people. But that is what is going on. The UN and other aid organizations are, de facto, paying for Palestinian terrorism. Gazans have a higher per capita standard of living than Egypt. Why? Because the mainstream media of the world presents their case as if it were Truth (capital T). When was the last time (if ever) you saw a story on CNN (or BBC, or France 24) that started out with coverage of a terrorist attack on Israel rather than first presenting the consequences to the Gaza civilians from an Israeli reaction? Do those networks tell you where they get their videos and pictures? How about a source for casualty statistics? Fox news complains that Kamala Harris has been campaigning for 3 weeks without having an interview by a journalist. Hamas has been doing the same thing for over 10 Months! Candidate Harris avoids some important issues. Hamas just openly violates humanitarian law and then lies about it (or claims it doesn’t apply to them). I expect better from people who claim to present the news.
