Lots of threats buy no action. Maybe Iran is trying to find a way to attack without making it look like an attack? Everyone is looking for a way to avoid getting into an exchange that leads to a bigger war. The problem is figuring out how to do that.
Meanwhile, the noises emanating from Tehran are causing people to flee Lebanon. It’s not just the foreigners. Lebanese citizens (especially those who remember the last war) are also leaving. Some say the move is temporary; others plan to remain away until Hezbollah is gone.
My older son and his family took a brief vacation to Europe. They are now safely home. My younger daughter lives in the US and was planning a visit. Her flight has been cancelled.
Hezbollah is still shooting rockets, and Hamas is still hanging on to those kidnap victims. The US continues to urge everyone not to widen the war, and the IDF is still on a high alert status.
No one seems to know when (or how) this situation is going to end. I hope it’s soon, and without excessive casualties.
