There isn’t much fighting in Gaza. The IDF has withdrawn most of the combat troops and Hamas is avoiding confrontation, The people Hamas is taking on now are Gaza residents. Hamas seems to be looking at ;the day after’, and is simply killing any people, or families, that might be a problem when they try to reestablish control. It’s a simple process. They take their victim out to the street and shoot them. No trial. No questions. No wonder no one wants to be seen as cooperating with Israel.
Even the Palestinian Authority is trying to get in on the act. They are running pro-Hamas propaganda on all their media. Here are some examples:
- Abbas’ advisor: “The criminal American administration led by criminal President Biden and his criminal Secretary of State [Blinken] are sponsoring this occupation and its crimes”
- Fatah Youth Movement: “The American administration is the head of the terror,” they are “alongside Hitler, Mussolini, and the rest of the war criminals”
- Political commentator: The American administration is “the head of the snake, the head of evil, and the axis of evil”
- Abbas’ advisor: “The US bears full responsibility for the ‘holocaust’ in the Gaza Strip”
- PA: “The US is fighting the Palestinian people with an Israeli arm”
Note that these examples are all aimed at attacking the US,
I could make the quotations longer, but I don’t think it’s necessary.
What is also interesting is that these broadcasts are not causing very much “popular resistance”. Israeli security forces have been able to pre-empt potential attacks and arrest potential terrorists (often before they even get beyond the planning stage).
The big open question that remains is what will happen on the northern border.
