America is engaging in ‘secret’ talks with Iran in order to get the Houthi attacks on international shipping to stop. That was the newest leak seen on line. It reflects the failure of US air attacks to deter the Houthis. The USAF, it appears, is still wedded to the false premise that tactical air power, alone, can bring about a decision on the battlefield. Adherence to this theory, first expressed by Italian General Douhet, has repeatedly been shown to be incorrect, Yet, for some reason, the USA keeps returning to it. Perhaps it’s because they don’t want the casualties associated with use of ground forces. They have even convinced Israel (by threats?) to rely on the same theory in Lebanon against Hezbollah (and possibly also in Rafah, against Hamas). Air superiority is necessary to win wars, but has yet to show that it is independently sufficient.
Hamas, using UNRWA, claims Israeli air attacks targeted an aid distribution center in Rafah. To me, this is so preposterous that it does not merit the effort needed to deny it. But it combines some of the best Pallywood features: use a non-Hamas source, locate it in Hamas controlled territory (precludes independent verification), claim civilian deaths, and associate it with claimed Israeli disruption of aid. I’m sure some major media (CNN?) will repeat it. But few will mention that Israel has increased the numbers of aid bearing trucks entering the Gaza strip from the north. Old prejudices die hard.

Until the US gets this democratic socialist party out we are all doomed. This administration has caused war and destruction everywhere by being gutless. They only want to seem helpful and our State of the Union was a joke full of lies. I’m praying all will change rapidly when they are gone. Our government is competing with Russia on lying, cheating and doing nothing, but what makes them rich and powerful. I’m praying for Israel and change here in November.
