Gaza War 13 Feb

This morning we get to see the aftermath of that heroic hostage rescue. On CNN they were blaming Israel for the many casualties that resulted from the rescue operation. The number 100 was mentioned a lot. I first heard 100 as a Hamas estimate. Hamas later lowered their number to 40-50. It may have gone back up since then. After all, they wouldn’t want to disappoint their fan club. What I did not hear was any mention of the fact that it was Hamas that kidnapped these people in the first place, and then continued to hold them captive, in violation of all norms of international law and ethical behavior. But for CNN and many others, Israel is the one to blame.

A Similar note was sounded by US President Biden, He doesn’t understand why Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu won’t adopt his suggestions for ending the war (reportedly without any consequences for Hamas and with no release of hostages!). Biden seems to think that Hamas is a benign group that just wants a Palestinian State. He apparently never heard of their charter, never noticed that they kill people who might oppose them, and are committed to spreading Islam through violence. There are a lot of non-violent Muslims in the world. Hamas is not home for any of them. Even the original Saudi plan that called for a Palestinian State was predicated on the idea that this was a solution to a political conflict. It’s not. Hamas is a radical Islamic Movement. That’s why it was branded as a terrorist organization. Is Biden so senile that he has forgotten what radical Islam does?
