The UN Security Council passed another rather bland resolution on the Gaza War. It calls for more aid and asks for the “immediate and unconditional” release of all hostages. Predictably, Hamas ignored the hostage release part. Hamas also attacked the resolution for not including a call for an immediate cease-fire. Could it be that Hamas is concerned about surviving this war? A cease-fire would guarantee their position. No wonder it has become the cornerstone of their propaganda efforts. They are using all their old tried and true accusations to support a call for a cease fire: civilian casualties, humanitarian crisis, war-crimes, etc. They tried a new idea recently. Hamas released a video of some Israeli hostages that they claim were killed by IAF attacks. They titled it “We tried to keep them alive”. The sad part is that some media outlets accept this drivel as fact.
On the Lebanese border Hezbollah has been using more and more anti-tank guided weapons (ATGW) to hit buildings in Israeli towns. The structures that are targeted are not currently occupied because Israel took the precaution of evacuating civilians from the combat zone. ATGWs have a flat trajectory, and cannot be intercepted by the Iron Dome system. Iron Dome is used against ballistic arc trajectory weapons.
Hamas trotted out a WHO “expert” from their entourage of non-Arab specialist to sound a warning about imminent “famine” (first time they’re using this new word) in Gaza. I haven’t seen any WHO representative use that kind of language about the situation in Sudan. There are over 5 times more refugees from Sudan than there are Gazan Palestinians, and the Sudanese really are starving. Has this story made the front pages in any mainstream media?
