Last night the IDF made some fantastic revelations backed up by photographs. The IDF had cleared al-Rantisi hospital in Gaza and entered the basement and tunnels underneath. IDF spokesman RADM Daniel Hagari went to Gaza himself, and filmed his report from the site. It showed evidence that hostages had been held there. There were documents, weapons and munitions; all items that, according to international law, cannot be placed in hospitals without the hospital losing its protected status.
IDF has often accused Hamas of violating this aspect of the Hague Conventions. This time, they showed proof,
One surveillance video showed Hamas terrorists armed with RPG grenade launchers entering the al-Quds hospital. The drone filming the activity actually caught the terrorist in the act of firing through a window opening from inside the hospital.
What did mainstream media do with this? Nothing! Hamas realized how damning this evidence is and quickly sent propagandists to accuse Israel of fabricating Fake News. They should know. They have lots of experience.
Meanwhile, Hamas continues to drag out hostage negotiations. They are offering to release some hostages in return for, among other things, a 5 day hiatus in Israeli offensive activities. And the cease-fire must take place BEFORE they even provide identification of the kidnapped victims they are considering releasing. This looks to me like some desperate maneuvers intended to return the focus to kind of script Hamas knows well. It gives them time to push for international pressure on Israel and have Israel make concessions while Hamas continues to evade responsibility and/or punishment for starting the war and committing war crimes.
There should be no cease-fire without prior release of ALL the prisoners illegally held by Hamas. No concessions should be given to them that allow them any modicum of control over the proceedings; even if they threaten to kill the hostages (which, I expect, will be one of their next ploys). The same demands the WWII allies gave the Nazis ought to be presented; unconditional surrender.
