No Longer Contagious

Considering that I am part of the older community and regarded as being more at risk than most the virus wasn’t very unpleasant. It did restrict my breathing on the first day, but little else. I never had a fever. Being in isolation could have been a problem, but I was in a room with my laptop. I watched/listened to Opera and Ballet to my heart’s content. I especially enjoyed watching Copellia and Le Corsaire. I also saw La Fille Mal Gardee for the first time. The music caught me by surprise. The ‘composer’ stole liberally from other pieces. I recognized themes from Donnizetti and so I researched the story a bit. After I found out about the klepto tendencies I watched it again by a different cast. The second time wasn’t well danced. But The knowledge I gained was adequate compensation.

The Opera side was an opportunity to see some lesser known works. I watched several by Rossini. I also saw good performances on video of two of my all-time favorites: La Traviata and Lucia De Lammermoor. An opera day kept the doctor away.
