Yes, the virus, not the beer. I’ve no idea how or where. Had a day of runny nose that seemed to be different. Thicker than usual. Next morning I woke up to such congestion that I could barely breathe. Went to the local clinic for test. The following day I was notified that I was “Positive”.
So now I’m in isolation. We bought a home test kit and used the first one to establish that I’m the only one infected. Made up the bed in the “guest” room. where we have a second bathroom attached. This will be my world for the next 4-5 days. My wife is also in a sort of isolation. She can only be in the rest of the house, not in my “suite”. The only compensation right now is that my laptop is located in the room with me. Of course, that won’t matter on Shabbat and Shavuot. And, I am not allowed to join ANY other people for the two day holiday.
On the plus side I can also add that this infection has not been accompanied by a fever, or any severe discomfort. I have not experienced any loss of taste (at least, not yet). So, despite being one of the members of the high-risk population. I haven’t suffered much physically. I’ll have to prepare some reading material and such to keep me busy during the coming “long weekend”. After that, I need 2 consecutive days of negative tests, after which I can return to the real world.
