A recent e-mail prompted me to put up these pictures. I’ve mentioned in earlier posts that when I could not find an available commercial model I made my own out of wood, pins, etc. These are pictures of models I made about 30 years ago.
First, there are 4 small coastal tankers that were acquired and put into service as aviation gasoline carriers. Two served in the Atlantic, and two in the Pacific. Three are in measure 12 camouflage (dark hull, lighter upperworks) the fourth, Kaloli, had a special design, measure 32/11A.

The next group is a set of minelayers that were converted from merchant vessels. The smallest, WASSUC, was officially a coastal minelayer. The others were originally sister ships, but at different times in their service lives, each one had a unique appearance. I reflected this in the models.
