I have recently, now almost a month, been having pains in my left leg. They aren’t always there. They seem to appear mostly when I am sitting at my computer. My GP doctor thought they were most likely muscular in origin, bit just to be sure she sent me for some x-rays. A second opinion from another doctor resulted in a solid “I really don’t know”. It also lead to referral to an Orthopedic specialist. His examination came to a similar conclusion. “Let’s wait and see if there are any developments”. I thought it might be Sciatica. But he was sure it wasn’t from a spinal source. Knowing it was Sciatica would have been of little help. It’s caused by pressure on a nerve (i.e. spinal origin, ruled out by the orthopedic specialist). Knowing it was Sciatica would not have been very helpful. Most cases of Sciatica result from pressure on a nerve (i.e. a spinal transmission source) and there is no real cure for most forms, I’m left with trying various ways to alleviate the pain. For the present, I’m going to try limiting the time I spend on my Computer. It seems like a drastic solution to me, but one supported by my wife. I’ve learned, over time, that she is right most of the time.
