The British Admiralty discouraged the use of dazzle camouflage on their battleships during WWI. There were a few exceptions. Actual patterns in various colors were applied to the new battleships Revenge and Ramillies. I covered Ramillies in an earlier post. Revenge is a more difficult problem because there is a book that claims her pattern was mostly painted on the hull, and not the upper works, and shows an illustration with colors that are, well, just wrong. The following pictures show my model of Revenge painted in the correct colors specified by the RN design, and the photographic proof that shows the light colored stripe on her funnel, bridge, and a striped mainmast, all of which are definitely above main deck level.
