The US has invited a bunch of Middle Eastern countries and companies to meet in Bahrein. It seems the main topic was to be economic development, especially for the Palestinians. The Israeli Government was specifically not given an invitation, possibly in the hope that something might actually emerge from the meeting. However, the Palestinian Authority vocally and publicly proclaimed it will NOT participate. The PA president even said making economic progress would be a “Strategic Error”.
In previous proclamations the PA rejected out of hand any US proposal for trying to bring about an end to the Arab-Israel conflict. They did so before there was any mention of any art of what such a proposal might contain.
No wonder the last Israeli elections ignored the idea of finding some kind of solution. What ever might be put forward was already declared as no good by the Palestinian side.
