This past month I added 4 models to my collection. All of them are painted in their First World War dazzle camouflage patterns. Two of them I purchased, and 2 others I built because no commercial model maker currently offers them. The difference in quality is obvious, but there were no alternatives.
The Nereus is the second model of that type I’ve built. I now have 3 of the large American colliers, and each one is in a different camouflage pattern.
the namesake ship, but she’s close enough for me to be pleased with her. I had purchased a British passenger ship a fer years ago that was in her pre=WWI configuration. Juat prior to the war she had an extra 50 foot long section added amidships. At the time they also added a second (dummy) funnel. I also added the funnel and painted her in wartime colors.
George Washington came as a peacetime passenger liner. I added a couple of guns and new, larger, lookout positions on both the forward and after masts.
