Mainstream media in the US ought to be seriously embarrassed. Those horrible videos of the purported killing of an entire family of nine in Gaza have been exposed as a re-run of another incident (also staged?) from a month or so ago. This is typical of much of the media. They put out items from Hamas or the UN (which are most often based on reports from their workers in Gaza who are also employed by Hamas) without bothering to verify anything! Sky news even went so far as to accuse Israel of not letting them verify things on the ground, all the while knowing that their reporters from Hamas controlled parts of Gaza (including the major providers AP, UP, and Agence France Presse) are regurgitating material that Hamas has given them. No one bothers to mention that the real source of items from the “Gaza Health Ministry” is the Hamas propaganda department. But they do use emotional laden words like”alleged” or “not independently verified” when Israeli sources are used. I wonder how many of them will bother to mention this failure to check the source, or make an apology
