Most media reporting on yesterday’s return of bodies closed their stories before the report from the Israeli Forensic Institute was available. Maybe they left it out for other reasons. In any case, the Institute examined the corpses that Hamas gave Israel and confirmed the identification of three of them. The fourth body, purported to be that of Shiri Bibas, was NOT confirmed. Actually, it was confirmed as NOT her body. They noted that the forensic exam also showed it was not the body of any of the other missing Israelis that Hamas was holding. It’s a bit of an understatement to say that this is a violation of the hostage agreement. But it isn’t an understatement to say that this looks like another step in the Hamas propaganda/psychological war.
In a separate incident, Arab terrorists placed explosive devices in several busses in Bat Yam. They appear to have all been set to explode at the same time. An alert passenger spotted one of them and notified the driver. He, in turn, put all his passengers off the bus and drove to central parking area. His bus, and at least two others, was destroyed when the devices exploded. No one was injured. At least one device appears to have been successfully neutralized without going off.
