Wetherhorn

A number of countries are sitting on the sidelines and wringing their hands over the numbers of “civilian” casualties in Gaza and approaching humanitarian disaster there. They are also self-righteously giving gratuitous advice to Israel about not advancing troops into Rafah, This is the same Rafah where it appears the Hamas leaders are hiding, and where the remaining hostages are being held. It is also the only remaining place where Hamas terrorists have anything resembling an organized military organization, In short, Israel is being asked to surrender.

Under the illusion that there is a diplomatic solution to the entire “Palestine Problem” many of these countries, led by the USA, are putting together their own idea of a “two-state” solution. It comes with a comprehensive plan including a time-table for implementation. The details are either not yet agreed upon or are being kept secret. The fact that such talks are occurring is, however, publicly acknowledged.

The very idea that an outside country would want to intervene (even diplomatically) to save a terrorist group like Hamas is mind boggling to me. Hamas is the organization that still fires rockets at Israeli civilian towns. The last one was just last week (and of course, wasn’t reported in the media). Hamas is the organization that murdered, raped, and kidnapped civilians on October 7^th. Hamas is the organization that claims international law doesn’t apply to them because they were “occupied”. Hamas is the organization that steals international aid from its’ own population (with UNRWA complicity) in order to resell it at a profit.

I could go on, but it isn’t necessary. The only end to this war involves the release of all the hostages (including the dead bodies) and the elimination of Hamas as an armed threat to peace in the region (why do you think no Arab country wants to accept Gazan Palestinian refugees?). The “day after” needs to start with replacing UNRWA and re-educating Gazans not to hate others.
