Israel is among those being blamed for yesterday’s bomb blasts in Tehran at the memorial for the 4th anniversary of the assassination of Iranian General Soleimani, It’s probably just a knee jerk reaction. Soleimani was killed by an American drone strike. But it’s convenient to blame Israel. Even the US said Israel was behind the attack in Beirut that killed Hamas leader Al-Arouri. This event occurs just after that one. It’s an easy connection. But it’s obviously wrong. Israel is not associated with any terror attack, mass casualty event, and has never been involved in that kind of bombing. The Tehran bombs, 2 of them, killed 95 people. One bomb went off causing panic and casualties. The second was timed to explode a little while later, possibly with the objective of hurting responders to the first blast. In that, it was successful. At least one paramedic was caught by the second bomb. I’m not shedding crocodile tears for Soleimani, but there’s no way I could connect Israel to the Tehran attack.
The IDF program to gradually release reservists is going ahead. That’s in spite of the fact that there are still ongoing operations in Gaza and high tension on the Lebanese border. Hezbollah is still shooting, and Israeli is still shooting back, but neither side seems interested in expanding the fighting into a full-fledged war. On the contrary, one of the claims floated in Lebanon by Hezbollah is that Israel is trying to bait them into getting into a larger conflict, and they aren’t going to do it. The boy stopped after every few steps and looked at where the soldiers were, then was gathering intelligence for Hamas terrorists who were taking advantage of the fact that the IDF wouldn’t shoot a child. Sure enough, after the kid went away Hamas launched a bunch of RPGs (Rocket propelled grenades) at the Israeli soldiers, inflicting casualties. I’ve mentioned before that Hamas uses children to carry munitions and communications for them. This is the first time I’ve heard of them using kids as spies.
