IDF forces have been operating against 3 major Hamas strongholds during the past day; Jebalya and Sejawiya in the north and Khan Yunis in the south. During this time Hamas terrorist have been engaged and killed, defensive positions destroyed, tunnel shafts destroyed, and both munitions and intelligence materials captured. One of most dramatic items for me was to see Israeli soldiers carrying away Hamas rockets. Each rocket was so large and heavy that it required two men to hold it. Those are the rockets that Hamas has been launching at Israeli towns and cities for years. The ones captured will never be employed that way.
Rumors have it that both Yahya Sinwar and Muhammed Def may be hiding in the underground tunnels in Khan Yunis. If this is true, the IDF may soon have them (or their bodies) in custody.
The IDF has allowed publication of details about the condition of the bodies of women soldiers who manned the observation center near the fence. This shows inhumane treatment of the women (Including evidence of sexual assault both before and after they were killed} and mutilation of their bodies (including beheading, dismembering and burning). If there were punishments worse than death, the perpetrators of these crimes deserve them.
Hamas terrorists also commit excesses against their own civilians. Humanitarian aid destined for refugees has not reached those for whom it was intended. Hamas has appropriated medical items and then sold them, food packages and water are being hoarded for future terrorist use, and fuel is simply diverted to run Hamas underground generators. Evidence about this has apparently surfaced from questioning of both refugees and captured terrorists.
Even though the military position of the terrorists is deteriorating, many of them still choose to die as “martyrs” rather than surrender.
