Thinking Back

.That terrific storm is now just a memory. I look out the window and there is little to remember of the actual storm. Our acacia tree is gone. All the broken branches have been taken away. The snow has all melted. Most of the water has either evaporated or flowed away.

It brings to mind some of the closing lines of Psalm 147 that are part of the daily Jewish prayer morning service.

“He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.”
