Corona virus – continued

My wife and I are still at home. Our routine remains much the same. We play Scrabble on Sat afternoon, and often computer games on other days. I cannot play those games for very long. I’m just not that young. I’d rather read a good book. Speaking of that, I just finished “Beneath a Scarlet Sky” which I found fascinating. Officially, it is classed as a novel. Unofficially, it’s a true story adapted to a fictional format in order to use some novelists tools like direct dialogue and feelings.Either way, it was a good read and not only held my attention, but also got me to do a few on-line searches to verify things that were written. I also watched a good performance of the opera AIDA on TV.

Today, after taking our dogs out for a brief walk, I concentrated on proof reading pages for my upcoming book “The Easter Egg Fleet”. The book is almost ready for print. Then I visited Facebook. I only do that very rarely. But this time it was important. My nice’s son in Florida had started a Thank You operation for health care people and it became more than just a small operation. I’m extremely proud of him for what he has done. Where we live the local community has similar programs. We were called again last night by one of the youth groups to check on how we are managing. They do this for all our “senior citizens”. If there is anything we need, groceries, medicines, et, they will handle it for us. In our case, we’ve had help from our children and grandchildren. They also call or text us almost every day. We follow the guidelines from our Health Ministry. We recently saw proof that those instructions are important. In a neighborhood where they were not followed there has been a sharp rise in infections.

For now, all that remains is to pray that those who are ill will recover and that the epidemic will soon end.
