When I was returning home about 30 minutes ago the entrance to our village was blocked. There were several security vehicles on the road and an a mass of personnel from the police, military, and rescue organizations (fire and ambulance) all over the area. A couple of hours earlier an off-duty policemen from the Hebron station was driving home to Jerusalem when he saw the car ahead of him suddenly accelerate and swerve to the side of the road in attempt to commit homicide by automobile, His intended targets were two teen-age high school students from Elazar, a brother and sister. The policemen pulled over to the side and promptly shot the Arab driver. The 2 victims were both injured, one seriously. I know them both. Their father sits 3 rows behind me in our local synagogue, We will all be praying for their complete and speedy recovery this evening.
I was originally intending to comment about the proposed official visit to Israel by a pair of American Democratic congresswomen. I don’t see any reason to invite people to be guests in our home when they deny our right to have that home and are actively involved in trying to give it to someone else. The people they support are the same ones that incite the Arab population to commit terrorist actions like the one I described above.
